High density foam has a compression rate of 44lbs and features the perfect amount of cushioning and stiffness. Despite being soft, it still maintains firmness and support for sitting without excessive compression. The firmness of the foam is determined by compression, not density. To avoid overly hard cushions or sinking mattresses, you should check the compression or ild number, which indicates the pounds required to compress the foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For instance, a 4" thick foam piece that requires 33 lbs to compress it 1" and return to its full 4" thickness has a 33 lb compression rating or ild-indention load deflection.

All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. It is recommended not to open them with a box cutter but to use a ballpoint pen or pencil instead. The foam has a durability of 7 to 10 years and a 100% recovery rate, as well as being fire retardant. The size is 3" thick x 24" wide x 72" long.
