The compression rate of 44lbs for high-density foam makes it perfect for sitting comfortably without compressing the foam too much. The firmness and support are determined by compression, not density. To avoid a cushion that's too hard or a mattress that sinks, check the compression or ild number. Compression is the number of pounds necessary to compress a piece of foam 25% and still have it return to its original thickness.

All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. Do not open with a box cutter, use a ballpoint pen or a pencil. A little incision should be started, and from there, the foam can be broken. Medium density foam is used for firmer yet relaxed cushioning, with high-quality compression and durability to withstand harsh weight over time.
