Compression refers to the pounds required to compress a piece of foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For instance, a 4" thick foam needing 33 lbs. to compress it down by 1" and return to full 4" thickness has a rating of 33 lb. compression or ILD (Indentation Load Deflection). All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. Use a ball point pen or pencil to open, as box cutters might damage the foam. It's durable and can last 7 to 10 years.
